    There is a very small margin for error which makes this dangerous for the person trying to perform the move… if the good guy is to slow at blocking he gets cut, if he is too fast with the block he also gets cut.

    A furious knife wielding mentalcase will in fact wave a knife around. Although, waving it requires a lack of commitment to the actual slash, therefore a lack of strength, range or speed. When a knife wielder actually commits to an attack, that’s when defense techniques like that one come in.

    It’s unfortunate how many self defense instructors fail to mention commitment to strikes in relation to their defense :P
